Artist Lisa Nilsson from the United States studied at a technical school and obtained medical assistant certification when she was 47 years old. At the same time, she was exposed to some knowledge of medical anatomy and got inspiration for artistic creation. Since then, she has begun to use paper quilling to express the art form of human anatomy. Her works show the anatomical structure of various human sections. For example, the coronal section of body, the horizontal section of the head, and the horizontal section of the abdomen

It is worth mentioning that because these works are created using paper quilling, the details look very fine and accurate, just like real anatomical specimens. But because of the rich colors of paper quilling, these works look like oil paintings, very beautiful.
