In some ways, animal specimen stripping can be seen as a precursor to photography - a way of presenting life with static, visual effects. This approach is an exciting and creepy resuscitation - a bridge between survival and death. Plasticized specimens: This is exactly what photographer Mike McGeorge is targeting.
"There's a close relationship between the specimen-strippers and their work, and that's what I want to express," McGeorge said. "From little age to the big age, McGeorge had seen too many animals on the walls of his uncle's room that had been nailed to specimens. As a child, he often went out with grown-ups for hunting.
"Specimens strippers generally serve both individuals and corporate clients," he said. Sometimes private clients want to peel the animals they hunt into specimens. But almost every specimen-strippers have received a display company that needs them to make specimens of 200 animals, or a batch of goat specimens for museum display. "
Although this line may seem mysterious to laymans, it is actually an almost eternal profession. "There will always be hunting, and people will always need to process animals into specimens for display," Says McGeorge. "
In some of the larger production lines, bosses sometimes hire multiple technicians to work at the same time, and sometimes students who study painting at school help with color problems in the workshop, while the carving craftsman designs very elaborate plastic stents for specimen models.
